Early learning
Our early learning activities are based on nature connection and wellbeing, inspired by our values at CERES: “helping people fall in love with the Earth, again.”
Join horticulturist and permaculturist, Justin Calverley in this workshop focused on the pruning and care of fruit trees and you’ll discover how to grow a variety of fruit and nut trees in your backyard that produce a bountiful harvest year every growing season.
This workshop is for those people who have always wanted to have their own lemons, apples, figs or almond trees or those who have these trees at the moment but need to learn how to get the most from them.
In this workshop you’ll benefit from:
Justin Calverley has been teaching our Complete Urban Farmer course for 10 years. When he is not taking groups of budding green thumbs through all manner of garden know-how, he runs his own Horticultural Consultation Design and Education business, Sensory Gardens. Justin‘s approach is to encourage interaction and understanding of the natural world’s systems via a mix of theory and practical sessions which see his students gain hands-on skills and knowledge. Justin is a regular broadcaster on 3RRR’s “Breakfasters” and ABC “Evenings”. He is also the author of “The Urban Farmer”, available at CERES Nursery.
