Early learning
Our early learning activities are based on nature connection and wellbeing, inspired by our values at CERES: “helping people fall in love with the Earth, again.”
The Herbal Apprentice
Designed by Taj Scicluna & Willow Herbnerd
Facilitated by Taj Scicluna
The Herbal Apprentice is here to assist the process of remembering – to remember our roots, the old ways that live in our bones, the practices that tie us to our ancestors, and the celebration of ethnobotany; the relationship between people and plants.
This course has been designed for our love of the botanical, and all who rely upon it. We will draw attention to less human-centric ways of approaching herbalism, through an ecological lens, to focus not only on the plants we are using for medicine, but the insects and animals which they are in symbiosis with.
This course was created for those who do not necessarily want to be clinicians in Australia, which requires and extensive Bachelor degree, or for those who wish to add more of a hands-on and traditional approach to their existing studies.
This Course runs on Fridays from 7th March to 9th May, 10am – 3pm. Please note there is no class on 18/4 and 25/4 due to public holidays.
The Course is broken up into 8 Modules, for the 8 weeks of study.
Each module is broken into 3 parts; Foundational Component and a Medicine Making Component, with bonus Gardening components.
This is to give a well rounded grassroots herbalism approach, as well as to break up the sessions with different topics and hands-on activities.
The Herbal Apprentice is our complete intermediate Herbalism program, in this course, you will receive all of the Foundational Herbalism units, which will help you understand the true patterns of Herbalism.
