Our early learning activities are based on nature connection and wellbeing, inspired by our values at CERES: “helping people fall in love with the Earth, again.”
Naarm (Melbourne) is one of the most liveable cities in the world, host to rich biodiversity, parks, gardens and waterways. However, with the challenges of climate change and expanding development our natural environment is under increasing stress.
This course aims to introduce you to the biodiversity that makes up our city and equip you with introductory knowledge and skills in restoration, revegetation and landscape management.
This Course runs on Thursdays from 1st May to 19th June, 10am – 3pm.
You will gain a broad range of introductory skills, knowledge and insights that will equip you to take on further study and work in the changing Landscaping and Conservation & Ecosystem Management industries, which recognise a need for ecological sustainability knowledge and cultural inclusion.

This course will take place on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. This course recognises the connection of First Nations people to the land, islands and sea and recognises that many of the environmental challenges we are facing are due to the ongoing effects of colonisation.

This is an ACFE Approved Pre-accredited Course where the cost is subsidised for eligible participants. Participants are deemed eligible through an interview process with our career pathways officer. Jess Holland is a horticulturist with an enthusiasm for sustainability, local food systems and urban farming. Jess completed a bachelor in Environmental Science and Business Management in 2017. Since then she has worked for various bush regeneration businesses learning conservation and land management practices to revive grasslands within Victoria. She has experience in wholesale propagation for native plants and manages CERES microgreens enterprise. She has also completed a Permaculture Design Course in 2019.
