Early learning
Our early learning activities are based on nature connection and wellbeing, inspired by our values at CERES: “helping people fall in love with the Earth, again.”
Do you have a strong interest in sustainability, ethical consumption, ethical fashion, and a desire to reconnect with the natural world? This hands on workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of natural dyeing and ethical fashion practices. Perfect for beginners, you will learn how to transform natural ingredients from plant and food waste into innovative natural dyes, and reduce your environmental impact through upcycling and extending the life of your clothes.
Tamara Leacock is a designer and stylist who works with recycled materials, natural and low impact dyes, artisan textile techniques, and Afro-futurist aesthetics to create fluid textile explorations of natural colour and mood. Originally from Lenapehoking (New York), Tamara relocated to Narrm (Melbourne) and has since launched her contemporary unisex label REMUSE, based in Collingwood. As well as facilitating workshops, Tamara is also a sessional lecturer at Collarts in the Fashion and Sustainability and Fashion Marketing departments. Through her ethos and works in the realms of design, education and cross industry collaboration, Tamara is invested in ethical fashion as a vehicle for movement building and positive social change.
