This program supports sustainability practices in schools and contributes to council’s environment and sustainability goals.

Primary – Prep to Grade 2

What is offered to schools:
Kingston City Council offers schools support with their sustainability journey through:
- Sponsoring 25 schools to participant in the ‘I sea, I care’ marine ambassador student leadership program (run by Dolphin Research Institute)
- Sponsoring 2-3 schools to attend the Kids Teaching Kids Conference each year
- Organising the Kingston’s Big Green School’s Conference annually
- Running interactive Teacher Environment network meetings each term
- Showcasing and promoting Kingston school sustainability initiatives
- Facilitating Kingston schools through the ResourceSmart Schools framework
- Assisting schools with environmental events including Clean Up Australia Day, EnviroWeek, Kids Teaching Kids Week, National Tree Day
- Organising sustainability guest speakers
- Assisting schools network, build partnership and fostering sustainability leadership
- Waste incursions with a litter, worm farm and composting focus.
- Teacher PD sessions on any sustainability topic
