This program supports sustainability practices in schools and contributes to council’s environment and sustainability goals.
Connects to the following modules of ResourceSmart Schools: Biodiversity, Waste
Accessible to schools in the following Melbourne metropolitan regions: Northern
What is offered to schools:
- Recycling, composting and worm farming and litter free lunch incursions to schools in Whittlesea
- A contract with Visy to deliver their recycling education incursion (organised via Sylvia)
- Support with Schools Cleanup Day and run occasional competitions promotions
- Walking School Bus support
- Tree planting days with parks and open space department (via Sylvia)
- Quarterly newsletter goes to schools at start of each school term
- Advice for planting on Schools Tree Day.
