Dandenong Ranges National Park – Education Centre
The Dandenong Ranges National Park, is among the more unusual and beautiful of Victoria’s national parks. Easily accessible from Melbourne, the Dandenong Ranges provides many opportunities to explore diverse forest types including cool temperate rainforest, tall Mountain Ash forests and dry shrubby forests.
A dedicated education centre is located in the historic kiosk at the bottom of the Kokoda Track in the Ferntree Gully Picnic Ground. A variety of hands on curriculum based programs can be delivered in the park. Topics include biodiversity, threatening processes, past land use, park management practices, GPS mapping, and forest ecology.
Parks Victoria can also tailor a program to meet your needs for the AuSSI Vic Biodiversity module. Our trained facillitator can arrange an engaging excursion to visit the diverse range of habitats in the park as well as certify your programs.
