VISY Waste Excursion and Education
Students visit VISY Recycling Centre
30 students across years 7 – 10 visited the VISY Recycling Centre in Dandenong on 12th November 2015. These students will become recycling ambassadors for the college as we implement a stronger focus on recycling and reducing next year.
Students learned to identify which plastics can be recycled and which go to land-fill. They also had the opportunity to visit the operations area where rubbish was sorted and cleaned and where recycled paper was made into rolls of paper and cardboard boxes.
Recycling and minimising waste is a mandatory module to be covered in the ResourceSmart Program for our college to achieve 5-star status.
