Save Spring Creek-St Therese Torquay
SAVE SPRING CREEK- TIM FLANNERY EVENT
Mia, Georgia, Paris , Rio, Ava, Nicole, River, Ella and Charlotte represented St Therese at this event a few weeks ago.
The Surf Coast Energy Group initiated this community event and organised a forum for the first part of the night, which we were involved in. The second session was a talk by Professor Tim Flannery, who spoke about environmental issues the world is facing and possible solutions.
The girls became interested in speaking up about saving more habitat for the animals of Spring Creek after their experiences at the Environmental Camp in Anglesea.
With students from Torquay College they researched endangered animals and plants in the Spring Creek Valley and presented this to guests on the night.
Our students showed excellent leadership in all that they did with their involvement, well done girls.
