In early 2012 students from the Green Team attended the Autralian Youth Climate Coalition Start the Switch Conference. Students came away with the goal to “repower” the school with solar panels. The students planeed acativities through the year to raise the money to purchase a solar panel system for the school. These activities included several bake sales, a sausage sizzle on Smith St Fitzroy and the main event a movie night. From these events the students raised over $ 5000. This inlcudes a grant they obtained from Price Waterhouse Coopers. The school has matched the student contribution and a 5kW (20 panel) system was installed on Thursday 6th December.
