The Red Group is an organisation that collects and recycles SOFT plastics, namely plastic bags, food wraps, chip packets and the like.
At Fifteen Mile Ck., following a presentation by Elizabeth Kasell which outlined the worldwide problem of overwhelming use of non-degradable plastics, we have opted to be part of the project.
While our usage of soft plastics here is not excessive, we are trying to show “best practice” to our students and to the wider community that collection and recycling is a worthwhile thing to do.
Soft plastics can be recycled and re-manufactured into solid plastic materials that can be made into a wide range of products including seating, posts and decking all of which are highly durable.
