At St Monica’s College, we have set up Recycle Hub’s in the library at each campus. We encourage our College community to keep these items out of landfill and let us recycle them for you. There are a range of free collection programs offered through Terracycle, whereby the plastic in these items gets melted down and turned into outdoor furniture and play equipment. Plastic bread tags, used stationary items (such as pens, highlighters, markers and whiteout) and used toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes and their packaging, all get sent to Terracycle to be up-cycled. We recycle old mobile phones via Mobile Muster, used batteries via Battery World, and plastic bottle caps via Envision Hands. We have also just started collecting eWaste (any electronic items) via Tech Collect. We have kept 1000’s of kg’s of waste out of landfill thanks to our Recycling Hub.
