I presented our 2018 Resource Smart Achievements to School Council on Wednesday 14th November. I am pleased with our achievements considering we have such a small team and student population!

Term 1;

  • Resource Smart Coordinator; Natasha McAuliffe

Term 2;

  • Earth Day celebrated across school
  • Warren attended Term 2 progress workshop at…
  • School Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) completed
  • Staff Green Team established
  • SEMP presented to School Community
  • $1000 Landcare Grant awarded
  • Commenced audits
  • Small compost bins purchased for each classroom and staff room
  • Worm farm established and monitored by Warren’s class

Term 3;

  • Integrated Unit of work – ‘How Plants Grow’
  • Commencement of Landcare Grant Project
  • School Tree Planting Day
  • Natasha attended Term 3 progress workshop at Freshwater Creek
  • Scarecrow Project at Government House with student Green Team
  • Commenced planting of veg/fruit/herbs into raised garden beds
  • Integrated Unit of work – ‘Waste’
  • Student Green Team Presentation

Term 4;

  • Integrated Unit of work – ‘Habitats’
  • Integrated Unit of work – ‘Minibeasts’
  • Trip to Werribee Zoo Friday 16th November 2018
  • 4x large compost bins purchased
  • Planting of more fruit/veg/herbs into garden beds and more equipment purchased
  • Chicken coop work completed by Spotless
  • Chicken equipment/supplies purchased
