At ASPS we are creating the First Nation Food Forest.

First Nations Food Forest

To celebrate NAIDOC Week students were invited to come together to create the First Nation Food Forest. A group of students chose to work with Miss Hui to plant Chocolate Lily, Ruby Saltbush, Murnong, Native Thyme, Sea Purslane and Bush Basil.

We’re hoping to use the Forest to inquire into the plants and how they grow, and harvest the plants for the kitchen garden.

We spotted the strengths of being principled, inquiring and thinking in the students. Everybody got a role in planting, watering or taking out the plants that were already in there.

The students inquired into all of the plants in how big they grow, and what they like etc.

We are looking forward to tasting it!
