On Wednesday 25th April Plenty Parklands PS held their first \”Nude Food Day.\” The term \”nude food\” refers to food that does not come in wrappers and packaging. By choosing \”nude food\” we can help reduce the amount of waste we create and help keep our school and community beautiful.

To raise awareness for this day we asked members of the Green Team to present at our whole school assembly. They showed students different types of containers and lunchboxes that could be used to make our food \”nude.\” The Green Team also visited individual classes to remind them as well as written notices in the newsletter.

After a month of build up the \”Nude Food Day\” finally arrived! Students were very excited to show their classmates how they had made their lunch box more sustainable. All teachers recorded how many students in their class had \”nude food.\” This was represented as a percentage. As this was our first Nude Food day we will use this data to compare with others and see if we can show an improvement as our awareness develops.

Below is the data we collected. Congratulations to 2-24, 1-23 and 3-19 for having the top 3 results!
