Human Powered Vehicles Casey 6 hour event
Our HPV team rode in the 6 hour event at Casey Fields last weekend. We had eight riders who took part in the event and at the end of the 6 hours, our team was the first Primary School team to cross the line. We completed 99 laps of the track or 217.8 kilometres. We were the winners of the Junior Secondary Section.
It was a very exciting finish with the Overtakers crossing the finish line about 60 seconds ahead of our traditional rivals from Bendigo. We believe the lead changed about 10 times during the race before we managed to get to the front and hold off our rivals.
Apart from winning our section, the team placed 23rd in the race overall out of 109 teams, which is a fabulous effort as many books of the teams behind them were either in the Secondary College, Open Community or Veterans classes.
Great effort kids, keep it up.
GO OVERTAKERS!
