We noticed that, often in the Primary Years, people outgrow their gumboots before they out wear them. That means (if you don’t have people to hand them on to) that often perfectly good gumboots get thrown away.

Some people, don’t have gumboots and, as you know, we need to wear gumboots when we are learning outside on country.

So, we have decided to start a gumboot exchange and recycling program.

That way, when people have outgrown their gumboots, they can donate them OR exchange them for a larger pair. People who haven’t got a pair of boots can use these and return them when they have finished. This reduces the purchasing of gumboots, encourages the reuse and re-wearing of them.

All of this prevents waste and keeps perfectly good boots out of land fill.

It’s a win win!
