On Thursday the 11th and 18th of February, the Grade 1/2’s were excited to get out into our vegetable garden and pick potatoes, carrots, spring onions and rocket to do cooking with Mrs Reid and make yummy Jacket Potatoes! The students wrapped the washed potatoes in foil in preparation for the oven. They cleaned and chopped up the vegetables. Then came the fun part to create their potatoes. It was also wonderful to see the students try the vegetables even though they said they didn’t like them and many were surprised to find that they actually did like it and asked for seconds! Along with the salad we made from our garden we topped the potatoes with a bit of cheese and sour cream. Delicious! They smelt and tasted amazing! Here are some happy faces eating our creations!
