For one young student it was. Nick started a Cert II in Hospitality with us early this year. His teachers now describe it as the turning point in his life. His connections with gang culture and big gaps in his education meant that engaging at school was a challenge. But he loved cooking, and week by week his confidence and competence in the kitchen grew. With some coaching by the trainer (and his cleanest T shirt) he recently applied for a job and succeeded! He’s now applying his learning and getting some great work experience as well as some hard earned cash. And yes, he’s still at school as well as continuing his training with us.
