Energy Conservation at our Centre
On Wednesday 27th of February, the Kinder children walked up onto Main Street to look at our new solar panels. We had discussions with the children about where the panels are located and why they must be in a certain location. Some of the children then discussed with educators that they to have solar panels at their own homes.
We showed the children the Solar Metre Box on the wall outside the centre and talked about how the sun produces energy for Joyce Avenue. We talked about how this is measured and logged and that this in turn helps our environment. We let the children know that we can regularly check the metre box and record this information.
Recently we have also added Solar panels and a metre box to our Eco Dolls House. The children helped make these modifactions and discussed where the panels need to be placed
