In 2010, Tucker Road Bentleigh Primary School established a staff committee via the Physical, Personal and Social Focus Group to evaluate and develop the school’s sustainability program. The school also undertook the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Core Module with CERES facilitation as part of the Pratt Foundation grant for Glen Eira Council.

In April 2013, sustainability at CSHS took a turn for the better. Teachers Anthony Carter and Theo Hartman were notified of the AUSSI grant through Tiff Bollhorn of CERES. With the award of the AuSSI grant they then applied for and were awarded the DEECD Energy Efficiency Grant.
