CEOM Sustainability Activity – Western Region
In 2012 the CEOM ESD Committee is organising activities in each of the regions to promote education for the environment and sustainability.
The PL opportunity for staff with contemporary learning in Education for Sustainability, modelled by the students of Clonard College was onTuesday 14 August 2012 at the college and was designed to showcase to western region schools, a day of environmental activities, primarily centred round the theme of FOOD. Many guests ran workshops at the college from organisations such as CERES, Greening Austrlia, Caritas and the Jane Goodall Institue. Teachers who would be interested in developing Education for Sustainability programs within their schools were invited. The aim of the day was to provide students with information and tools which will enable them to participate in current ISSUES surrounding sustainability and food. The CECV and CEOM provide support for schools to implement sustainability education programs.
