WHAT HAPPENED?
We are learning about sustainability and looking after our environment and our planet Earth.
Today Deanne from CERES came to our preschool to complete a biodiversity audit with us.
First we looked at a book about habitats, and then we talked about where different creatures live and
what we might find in our garden.
Then it was time to go outside to explore our big beautiful playground!
We counted how many natural features and items in our garden – trees, shrubs, rocks, etc.
We also checked our worm farm, compost bin and our vegetable patch.
Part of our adventure included looking for creatures and insects that live in our garden – This was fun!
We checked under rocks, in the tanbark and all around our garden. We found lots!
Some of the insects we found included ants, snails, slaters, cockroaches and spiders.
Every time we go outside now, we look forward to exploring the treasures in our garden!
