Sweets are too delicious to ban from your diet, but what if we could eat those treats and feel less guilty? What if we could eat a dessert and actually benefit in vitamins and minerals?

Trainer Melanie Leeson is passionate about cooking food beneficial for you. Her cooking aims to recreate family favourite meals and dishes to incorporate dietary restrictions and improved health outcomes. In this class ‘Veggies in Dessert’ you will learn how to create healthier versions of your old favourites. The desserts are dairy-free and gluten-free using a variety of ingredients; nuts, seeds, vegetables, whole grains, fats, spices, legumes and unrefined sugars. Please note that eggs are used in some recipes.

The menu includes crowd pleasers like Chocolate Kidney Bean Slice and Spiced Pumpkin Donuts. We will also whip up:

  • Rich Chocolate Beetroot Truffles
  • Lime and Spinach Cake
  • Strawberry and Cauliflower Cheesecake
  • Sweet Veggie Mousse

Melanie Leeson is the director of Mettle +Grace. A passionate chef and campaigner for food as medicine, Mel is focused on cooking with wholefoods; catering for intolerances, allergies and diagnosed diets. Mel combines her experience in the industry working as head chef at Monk Bodhi Dharma, My Goodness Organics and Pressed Juices with her own health dilemmas to bring you an informative and fun workshop on food for the gut and mind.
