Air Dried Clay

Learn to craft beautiful handmade clay art pieces, jewellery and decorative items without the need for a kiln.

Many wannabe clay makers feel that access to a kiln is a critical part of the creation process, however Air Dried Clay is a fantastically versatile medium, easily shaped, moulded and imprinted with no need for kilns.
This course will show you what you can produce with clay without the need for a kiln. Projects include art pieces, jewellery, decorative items and more.

You’ll be part of a relaxed, welcoming space where local creator and trainer Kate Tauber will share many finished items for inspiration and guide you through the versatility of working with Air Dried Clay. Kate will demonstrate many ways of achieving great outcomes and share ideas for decorating works once they are dry. In the workshop you’ll:

Make an item together as a class, guided by your instructor
Create your own pieces, including painting them for extra effect
Come away with several finished creations

Trainer profile

Kate Tauber, is a local creative. Over the last 20 years, her passion for making has morphed from selling at markets to facilitating sewing, craft and woodwork groups while continuing to develop her skills across many mediums, of which Air Dried Clay is one. Kate’s teaching style is friendly and interactive, creating a space where stress is left behind, mistakes embraced and participants mindfully engage to awaken their inner creative.
