Full day 10am – 2pm $590 per group (max 25 students) +$10 booking fee

One adult: 20 students. Minimum of 2 staff per group

Discover where food comes from and see it being produced in real time on our urban farm. Learn about different types of farming and how organic, local food systems are good for the environment and people. Be a farmer for the day: observe the chooks and take care of your very own seed!

  • Identify the role that mini-beasts and microorganisms play in creating healthy soil
  • Gain the skills to create your own compost at home or school and understand its role in regenerating soils
  • Understand the stages of seed germination and identify what plants need to grow
  • Understand that there are a variety of farming methods, some are better for the environment than others
  • Discover what ‘urban farming’ means and how it can benefit the community and the environment
  • Consider the animals involved in our food system
